Tim Lemons: Chattahoochee High School

Lemons was inducted into the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame in 2017.

The only baseball coach in Chattahoochee High School’s history, Tim Lemons was inducted into the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame in 2017.

Lemons was drafted in the 11th round of the 1982 Major League Baseball Draft out of Gulf Coast Community College. However, he went to Auburn and played first-base. He got drafted again in the 13thround of the 1985 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. He played for three seasons before he eventually landed at Chattahoochee.

Lemons retired after the 2020 season and holds a 449-389 career coaching record.

His best season was in 2005 when Lemons guided the Cougars to a state championship in the highest classification. He was named state Coach of the Year and Atlanta Braves 400 Coach of the Year.

In 2006, Lemons was named Coach of the Year by the Marietta Umpires Association.

“Coach Lemons has been loyal to the Chattahoochee High School community for over 25 years,” Chattahoochee High Principal Tim Corrigan told the Johns Creek Patch newspaper. “This is a rarity in the head coaching ranks, and I am proud of what he has done for Chattahoochee High School. Coach Lemons is a humble man who quietly does the work; he doesn’t do it for the pay, fame or awards. He does this work because he loves what he does and loves the sport of baseball.”

Lemons sent more than 75 players to college.
