Harry Lloyd, Westminster School
Lloyd was one of the original members of the Atlanta Dugout Club.
It's hard not to mention Westminster without mentioning Harry Lloyd. The longtime coach of the Wildcats was the school's first baseball coach and one of the original founding members of the Atlanta Dugout Club, which eventually evolved into the Georgia Dugout Club.
Lloyd coached at Westminster for 37 years and led the program to state titles in 1967 and 1968 in Class A. His 1975 squad won the Class 2A state title.
He passed away on October 12, 2023.
The longtime high school coach was also a professional manager. From 1971 to 1973, he managed in the Philadelphia Phillies' minor league system, winning a pennant in 1973 in Auburn, N.Y. He also earned the league's Manager of the Year award that season.
Lloyd played collegiately at the University of North Carolina. On his team was former Georgia Southern coach Jack Stallings, also a member of the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame.
The baseball facility at Westminster is named "Harry Lloyd Stadium" in his honor.
